Chester thornless blackberries...... These plump and juicy berries are currently showing off with a third flush of ripe berries a couple of months after the main crop ripened, and I am loving them! The flavour of these juicy plump blackberries is very close to the wild blackberry; very sweet and floral, however the berries are much firmer than wild blackberries, so the Chesters hold their shape and don't squash as easily. They have stunning pink flowers, which then turn into these dark plump berries that ripen over a very long period, on long upright smooth canes. They are last of all the varieties of bramble berries I grow to ripen in my garden, by having so many varieties of berries growing it means we can harvest fresh berries for months on end. The order in which the bramble berries ripen in my garden starts with the Youngberries in November, then Silvanberries, Boysenberries, Loganberries, Lawtonberries, Tayberries, Marionberries, Waldo blackberries and finishes with these lovely Chester blackberries. Luckily I still have 2 varieties of autumn raspberries and strawberries still fruiting for late autumn harvests.

In the sunroom, every day is practically #whatshanginwednesday 🧗🏻‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Having two skylights as well as a window means there is ample light from all angles, but most important from above/vertically. The window is west-facing so we get a beautiful golden hour through the sheer curtain before it sets behind the wall outside.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Because there is various levels of light, on all angles, all day long, I really get to play with the idea of growing and adapting an indoor jungle — from undergrowth right up to the open canopy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #epiphyllumanguliger #hoyacarnosacompacta #dischidiageri #platyceriumsuperbum #hatiorasalicornioides #marantaleuconeura #peperomiaargyreia #houseplantclub #urbanjunglebloggers #рослини #식물 #観葉植物 #indoorplants #horticulture #melbourne #plantsmakepeoplehappy
